Cat Positive is a Bellingham, Washington emo-punk band pairing the heart-on-sleeve songwriting of The Weakerthans, Jimmy Eat World, and The Get Up Kids with the storytelling of artists like MJ Lenderman and Waxahatchee. Grounded in the spirit of DIY punk and the earnestness of late-'90s and early-2000s indie rock, the band balances driving guitars and hooks with a reflective, lived-in approach to songwriting.
Their latest album, Electric City Boxing Club, released in June 2025, looks back on growing up in Great Falls, Montana, tracing the connections between small-town adolescence, punk community, grief, and the passage of time. Both nostalgic and forward-looking, the record is a reflection on the people and places that shape us, even long after we've left them behind.
